Understanding the profit projection methodology
Growth model
Revenue grows at the specified monthly rate using compound growth. Expenses grow at half the revenue growth rate, reflecting the typical pattern where costs increase more slowly than revenue as a business scales.
Tax estimation
The estimated annual tax is calculated using individual marginal tax rates on the annualised profit. This includes income tax (after LITO) and Medicare levy. Actual tax may differ based on other income, deductions, and structure.
Using projections wisely
These projections are estimates based on consistent growth. In reality, revenue can fluctuate. Use these figures for planning purposes, and review monthly against actual results to refine your forecasts.
Estimate Only: Projections are based on assumed growth rates and may not reflect actual business performance.
