Yes. All Italian calculators use the official Agenzia delle Entrate tax rates for the 2025 tax year. This includes the IRPEF brackets, tax deductions for employees (detrazioni), regional/municipal surtax ranges, and INPS contribution rates.
IRPEF (Imposta sul Reddito delle Persone Fisiche) is Italy's progressive income tax. For 2025, the rates are: 23% up to €28,000, 35% from €28,001 to €50,000, and 43% above €50,000. Tax deductions for employees (detrazioni per lavoro dipendente) reduce the final tax amount and phase out at higher incomes.
In addition to IRPEF, Italian taxpayers pay regional (addizionale regionale, 1.23%–3.33% depending on the region) and municipal (addizionale comunale, 0%–0.9% depending on the municipality) surtaxes. Our calculator applies average rates but allows you to adjust for your specific location.
INPS (Istituto Nazionale della Previdenza Sociale) contributions for employees are approximately 9.19% of gross salary up to a pensionable ceiling, and 10.19% on earnings above the ceiling. Employers pay an additional ~30%. INPS covers pension, maternity, illness, and unemployment benefits. Our calculator deducts the employee share automatically.
Detrazioni are tax deductions that reduce your IRPEF liability. The main one for employees (detrazione per lavoro dipendente) is worth up to €1,955 and phases out as income increases. Additional detrazioni exist for dependent family members, medical expenses, and mortgage interest. Our calculator applies the standard employee deduction.
Yes. Italian employees receive a 13th month salary (tredicesima) in December and many contracts include a 14th month (quattordicesima) in June/July. Our calculator factors these into your annual compensation and shows how they affect your monthly take-home pay.
We update all Italian calculators annually following the Legge di Bilancio (Budget Law), typically approved in December for the following year. If mid-year changes are enacted, we update promptly.
