Yes. All French calculators use the official rates from the Direction Generale des Finances Publiques for the 2025 tax year, including the progressive income tax scale and the Social Security ceiling (PASS).
Since January 2019, income tax is withheld directly from your salary by your employer. The rate is set by the DGFiP based on your most recent tax return. Our calculator estimates your withholding rate and shows the monthly deduction.
CSG (9.2% of gross) and CRDS (0.5%) are social levies on employment income, calculated on 98.25% of gross salary. CSG is partially tax-deductible (6.8%). Our calculator computes them automatically.
Employee social contributions amount to approximately 22–25% of gross salary for non-cadre. They cover health insurance, pensions, unemployment insurance, CSG, and CRDS. Our calculator provides a detailed breakdown.
The quotient familial divides your taxable income by family shares (single = 1, couple = 2, each child adds 0.5). The benefit per additional half-share is capped at EUR 1,759 for 2025. Our calculator takes it into account.
Gross salary (salaire brut) is your total pay before deductions. Net salary is after social contributions. The "net imposable" includes non-deductible CSG/CRDS. The "net a payer" is your final take-home after withholding tax.
Our calculators are designed for employees. Auto-entrepreneurs have a different regime with flat-rate contribution rates based on turnover.
We update all French calculators annually once the DGFiP publishes new brackets and the Social Security ceiling is confirmed.
