The SMIC (Salaire Minimum Interprofessionnel de Croissance) in 2025 is about €11.88 gross per hour, or €1,801.80 gross per month for a 35-hour week. After social charges, the net SMIC is about €1,426/month. The SMIC is revised annually in January and can also be increased mid-year if inflation exceeds 2%.
How do you convert a monthly salary to an hourly rate?
Divide your monthly gross salary by 151.67 (the standard monthly hours for a 35-hour week). A €3,000/month gross salary equals about €19.78/hour. For a 39-hour week (with 4 overtime hours at 125%), the divisor is about 169 hours. Always specify whether you mean brut (gross) or net when comparing rates.
What is the difference between gross and net hourly rate?
