India Payroll Calculator uses formula-based assumptions that are stable enough for a practical planning calculator. Where India varies by state, product classification, employer policy, or taxpayer status, the calculator asks for the relevant rate or amount instead of hard-coding a universal answer.
The results are designed for quick comparison and internal planning. Confirm final filings, surcharge on special-rate income such as capital gains, professional tax, HSN/SAC classification, state stamp duty, and employer-specific payroll treatment with a qualified adviser before making tax or financial decisions.
From 1 April 2026, the Income-tax Act 2025 replaces the Income-tax Act 1961 and renumbers its sections. The rules and amounts for FY 2026-27 stay the same, but the section numbers change. For example, the Section 87A rebate is now Section 156, Section 80C is now Section 123, and Section 80D is now Section 126 of the new Act. This page keeps the familiar 1961 numbers because most people still search and file using them.
