Yes. All Canadian calculators use the official CRA tax rates and thresholds for the 2025 tax year. This includes federal tax brackets, the Basic Personal Amount, CPP/CPP2 contribution limits, and EI premium rates.
All Canadian calculators use the 2025 tax year (1 January to 31 December 2025). This includes the latest federal and provincial tax brackets, the updated Basic Personal Amount, and the new CPP2 enhanced contribution thresholds.
CPP contributions for employees are calculated at 5.95% on pensionable earnings between the basic exemption ($3,500) and the first earnings ceiling (~$71,300). CPP2 contributions are an additional 4% on earnings between the first and second earnings ceilings. Our calculator handles both tiers automatically.
EI premiums are calculated at 1.64% of insurable earnings up to the maximum insurable earnings ceiling (~$65,700 for 2025). Quebec residents pay a different rate through the QPIP program. Our calculator automatically applies the correct rate based on your province.
Canada has a two-tier tax system: federal tax plus provincial/territorial tax. Each province has its own brackets and rates. Provinces like Alberta have lower rates, while Quebec and Nova Scotia have higher rates, so your province significantly impacts your net pay.
Yes. You can enter your RRSP contributions into the calculator. RRSP contributions are tax-deductible, reducing your taxable income and therefore lowering your federal and provincial tax.
Yes. Use our Salary Comparison Calculator to see how your take-home pay changes between provinces. This is useful if you are considering relocating.
