No. The UAE does not levy personal income tax on individuals. Your gross salary is your net salary (before any voluntary deductions). However, 5% VAT applies to goods and services, and a 9% corporate tax was introduced in June 2023 for businesses with taxable income above AED 375,000.
Under UAE Labour Law, employees who complete at least 1 year of service are entitled to end-of-service gratuity. It is calculated as 21 days of basic salary per year for the first 5 years, and 30 days per year for each additional year, capped at 2 years' total salary. Our Gratuity Calculator computes your exact entitlement.
The Wages Protection System (WPS) is a MOHRE initiative ensuring employers pay salaries on time through approved banks or exchange houses. It protects employee wage rights. Our calculators help you understand your WPS-compliant salary structure.
The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) applies to UAE and GCC nationals. Employees contribute 5% of their gross salary, while employers contribute 12.5% (15% in Abu Dhabi). Expatriate employees are not covered by GPSSA. Our pension calculator handles both scenarios.
